Just another Oggix.org weblog

“Hortus has an update for the players currently running the gauntlet of World of Warcraft’s test realms for patch 2.4.2. The Blizzard blue-poster is sending out a request for the realm’s players to try to focus-test a macro bug that should have been fixed with the implementation of patch 2.4.2. As Hortus further explained: Using a macro with several instant cast spells can break targeting and the Escape key. This is most often reported as happening with hunter kill command macros. We remind the readers that this request is just for the guys in the PTR. Those who’ve been affected by this bug will want to post the results of their test over at Hortus’ original post. Those reporting the bug will also want to post the exact macros they were using when their interface locked up. Hortus’ macro focus testing thread is available for reading via the source link below. World of Warcraft patch 2.4.2: graphic changes to daggers revealed You might recall that some players have been complaining about the graphics used on some of the gear in Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. It seems that some weapons will be getting a graphic overhaul in patch 2.4.2. Based on the screenshot comparison, The Shiv of Exsanguination and Fang of Kalecgos on the public test realm don’t have the red glow that that is present in the actual servers of the game. To be honest, this blogger and a few members of the WoW team actually preferred the red glow on the Shiv of Exsanguination if only for the fact that it looked more menacing. While we’re not really sure if these changes are intentional and will be making it to the actual servers when patch 2.4.2 goes live, we thought it might be good to point it out for future reference for when Blizzard releases the patch notes.” “More good news coming in folks, courtesy of Blizzard’s planned changes to World of Warcraft via the upcoming patch 2.4.2. The first bit of news will certainly make many a Blacksmith’s day: The upcoming game patch will ensure all their Bind-on-Pickup weapons are no longer unique. What this means is that you can now build more than one piece of whatever weapons you fancy. serveur wow

Sound good. It’s about to get better, at least if you’ve been keeping tabs on 2.4.2’s patch notes. wow gold As you guys will recall, the PTR’s past notes also indicated that most of the game’s Main-Hand weapons are now One-Hand weapons. Summing that up, this means that whatever one-handed purples you’ve been saving up for can now be dual-wielded in either hand. Definitely big news for WoW’s resident Shamans and Warriors - the two classes who stand to benefit the most from these two changes. wow powerlevel That said, you may want to stick around in case we run into any more related updates. Madness buff time doubles If you’re among the guys who happen to use the Darkmoon Card: Madness trinket frequently in the World of Warcraft, we’ve got some good news.Player Pukka reported over at the WoW forums that the trinket’s buff effect in the test realms has apparently been extended to a full minute. In previous builds, the buff would last about 30 seconds. wow powerleveling We know - you’re probably thinking this is some PTR bug that’s probably getting axed as soon as soon as 2.4.2 goes public. According to Hortus, that is not the case. world of warcraft power leveling The Darkmoon Card: Madness’ extended buff time is an intended change that wasn’t included in the latest patch notes. That said, we’re certainly looking forward to seeing this new game update - among other newly discovered tweaks - make it to the patch’s live release. A suggestion for group dueling

“It’s interesting what sort of ideas you can run into when you’re a frequent visitor of World of Warcraft’s forums. In this particular case, we’re talking about a suggestion player Shaela posted a the MMORPG’s Europe forums regarding the current duel system. A duel, for those asking, is a way for WoW players (ususally in the PvE realms) to challenge another player with their consent. Duels can be implemented with players from other factions, or more usually, players from your own group. Getting back to the forum topic, Shaela suggested that Blizzard could try upping the ante for the duel feature by adding a group function. As the player elaborated: The option to duel another group or raid group. This would make some interesting duels both horde vs alliance because you get removed from combat when you die like in a normal duel. The group that gets all players eliminated looses offcourse. This would be real cool because you could fight horde vs horde, or alliance vs alliance also in this way. 2on2 outside of orgrimmar or somewhere in stranglethorn vale or wherever you want. Guild vs Guild in one faction. Slorkuz dropped by to clarify that a similar system was already in place, via the world arenas in Stranglethorn Vale, Nagrand, and Blade’s Edge Mountain. The blue-poster further noted that the game’s devs currently did not have any plans to implement the group duel feature. That said, Shaela’s idea does seem pretty good. While you don’t get any XP, honors, or loot when you win a duel, it serves as good combat practice - an important factor to remember if you’re preparing for WoW’s fast and furious PvP arenas. Those interested in reading the rest of the discussion will want to visit the original thread at WoW Europe’s forums, via the source link below. ” “I’ve got something to celebrate — not only is my birthday just around the corner (May 6th, cash and cake both accepted as presents), but my WoW-nniversary has just passed also.

It was three years ago, in mid April of 2005, I think, that I bought World of Warcraft as a birthday present to myself, and I’ve been playing the game ever since. wow gold paypal So in celebration of my third anniversary as a WoW player, let’s ask a first-timer question today (courtesy of WI’s own Elizabeth Wachowski): what did you think when you first played this game. I started up as a Night Elf, and even though I’d played Dark Age of Camelot before, and read up completely on World of Warcraft, I was pretty overwhelmed. I was clueless, too — I had no idea there was any world beyond Teldrassil. gold in wow I didn’t discover Stormwind or Ironforge until I was at least level 30. But I did like it — Dark Age of Camelot’s long, low-reward grind had left me jaded, and so when a green item dropped for me within a few minutes of rolling up my character, I knew I’d found a game with a reward system as good as Diablo II. What did you first think of World of Warcraft. I can’t imagine anyone hating the game completely (and staying around long enough to answer a discussion question here), but did you hate it for some reason. wow power leveling Did you love it from the start, or were there things that you missed until much later on. Did you start in beta and think it was unfinished, or did you start after Burning Crusade and wonder why it was so empty. What were your first impressions of WoW. cheap world of warcraft gold Arena Tournament Update At the completion of the first f four weeks in the qualifying period, the $200,000 3v3 arena tournament is in full swing, and the field is heating up.

The leader board is now topped by teams around a 2,000 rating. This slight drop in ratings indicates stiff competition among top contenders. wow europe Slash Bark currently holds the top position with a 2,056. Next comes Rogue-Mage-Priest powerhouse Let’s Be Friends sporting a rating of 2,003. Jacked as F, a team whose name accurately describes the state of the Arena Tournament Armory page, holds third place with a rating of 1,998. At this point it’s (almost) anybody’s game.RELATED LINKS:

It’s maintenance time

“As Adam mentioned yesterday, server maintenance is now upon us, and you’ll probably be getting a serverwide message to that effect any minute now if you’re logged into the game. This is an extended downtime, so expect servers to be down from 3 am to at least 11 am PDT. If you’re like a lot of people, including at least one WoW Insider blogger, you will probably be taking advantage of the downtime to get comfy with a little Grand Theft Auto IV (or, if you’re weird, you’ll just be waiting for the new Iron Man game or something). But if you’re stuck at work or school, or if you haven’t had the time or pocket money to pick up GTA, may I suggest a little bit of WoW Insider browsing. While I agree with Adam that it’s not likely that 2.4.2 is going live this week, it never hurts to bone up just in case. This goes for you too, GTAers. You’re going to have to take a break sometime, so you might as well take it with us, right. ” “With the new system, Blizzard is essentially forcing a majority of players to purchase last season’s gear. Although with some focus, it is relatively easy to obtain a 1700 personal and team rating, most players will be completely shut out from obtaining the best gear possible. The logical reasoning for this is because Season 4 is an on-level equivalent for Sunwell Plateau or the unofficial Tier 7 gear. wow gold As far as gear progression is concerned, most players in the world will never get to see Sunwell Plateau content, and consequently never obtain Level 159 gear. Placing ratings requirements for Season 4 items will severely limit gear distribution among players, elevating the difficulty of obtaining (a full set of) Season 4 gear to be on par with progressing in PvE. This is a good thing. This rewards efforts for hardcore PvP and PvE players. wow powerleveling The continued availability of last season’s gear will enable a majority of players to stay competitive even if not completely bleeding edge. PvP is still a completely viable means of obtaining excellent gear, but Blizzard has imposed a clear delineation for gear progression based on performance. As Season 2 Merciless Gladiator gear becomes available for Honor and Season 1 phased out forever, players will still have the option and opportunity to upgrade their existing gear. Despite the stringent new rules, the only gear that will be truly out of reach for a majority of players are the “”visually impacting”" shoulders and to a lesser degree the weapons. wow or It seems to be a step backwards from Blizzard’s recent trend of catering to the casual game. More than anything, the change is intended for the hardcore. Forced to Arena The one unsettling bit of information with Drysc’s announcement is the addition of personal and team ratings requirements for Honor-purchasable gear.

This means that the lines between Battlegrounds and Arenas have begun to blur. Ever quest platinum It will no longer be possible for players to grind through the Battlegrounds without stepping into Arenas in order to get the best non-set pieces of PvP gear. This has caused a stir among the player community for a number of reasons. First of all, not everyone is interested in Arenas. wow europe Some players feel that they don’t enjoy the competitive environment of Arenas but thrive on the more casual environment of the Battlegrounds and are rewarded with decent gear.RELATED LINKS:

The good will only get better

“What Blizzard isn’t saying out loud, however, is that Season 4 items are significant upgrades from all other Arena seasons. If the leaked items make it to live, these will be Sunwell Plataeu-class Level 159 gear, with massive statistical improvements over their predecessors. In particular, if one of the leaked items — the Brutal Gladiator’s Greatsword — makes it to live in its current iteration, we’ll see a 10.4 DPS increase over the Vengeful Gladiator’s Greatsword. A top end damage of 624 is also an incredible upgrade over the previous season’s 580. Under Season 4’s new rating scheme, only players — and teams — with a rating of 2050 will be eligible to purchase the weapon. Although only one example, it stands to reason that this will apply to other Season 4 Arena (Brutal Gladiator) and Honor (Guardian) items. What does this mean. Because weapons are integral to many classes as part of their damage-dealing ability, it means that players who achieve a high enough rating to purchase Season 4 weapons will see a significant upgrade to their DPS that even players decked in Season 3 items simply won’t be able to match. Players who are unable to advance through the Arena system will not only gear up slower, they will possibly not even be able to gear up at all. With the advent of Season 4 and the new ratings requirements, Blizzard is creating a true barrier of entry for all players whereby obtaining the new items are extremely prohibitive. Average players will be able to obtain 3-4 pieces of Season 4 items at best throughout the season, with most players never reaching past 1700 personal and team ratings. The new rules were intended to curb arena point selling as players who have ratings 150 points below the team’s ratings will earn Arena points based on their personal ratings.

This prevents high rated teams from opening up spots on their roster for point buyers who will enter the team with a 1500 rating. This slows legitimate roster replacements, but those players who stay with one team will eventually close the ratings gap with enough games. ” “While many people enjoy Arena play, for both fun and gear, some teams really stand out from the crowd. DonLolo z Wladem, a 2v2 team from Burning Legion EU has topped the arena charts with a 3,000 team rating. Not only does this team have no need to worry about rating requirements for Season four gear, but they will have plenty of arena points to spend once it is released. wow powerleveling This rating yields 1,140 points per week at the 2v2 level. The team is led by Noksil a Human Paladin. Noksil is the first player to reach a 3,000 personal rating. po wow The build for this mighty combatant consists of 44 points in holy and 17 points in Protection. This build reflects the versatility of hybrid classes in DPS and healing. The team roster also contains two Subtly Rogues: Mnius with a personal rating of 2,883 and Tatus; who carries a rating of 1965 for the 15 games he’s completed this season on the team. “In certain situations I might, but generally I’ll spare some flagged lowbie if I see one. (For me, a lowbie qualifies as any target whose level is green or gray, so even a 67 is a lowbie to me.) Situations involving lowbie death: 1. Lowbies gang-banging another lowbie, such as in the case of a Pally and Shaman attacking a Troll Hunter in the Blasted Lands a couple weeks ago. Those lowbies ate it a couple times until the Hunter got outta dodge. 2. Lowbie makes the mistake of attacking me on the rare occasion that I flag up. 3. Lowbie attacks a Horde town, such as the village outside the Valley of Trials (name escapes me at the moment). 4. Sort of a variation of #3… I once ordered the execution of a 63 Warlock who was summoning in Hunters and Rogues to attack XR. (I was leading the defense group, and when they were done, they all just kinda knelt… The Lock was responsible for the mayhem, so I made the message clear. The other lowbies, I just stood in front of them and did /flee.) If I see an alli who’ll give honor I’ll kill them, but if they don’t give honor then I’ll /wave or /hello them a few times and if they don’t respond then I’ll kill em. If they /wave or /hello back then I’ll acknowledge the fact they either don’t want to run back to their corpse or aren’t someone who needs to learn some manners. ” “Step 1: Is Ally a threat to me, others, or our NPCs. If yes, proceed to Step 3. If not, go to Step 2. Step 2:Is Ally a honorable target. runescape money If yes, proceed to step 4. If not, proceed to Step 5. Step 3: Kill.

Kill. Kill. ever quest platinum Step 4: Do I feel like killing, or just playing with their heads. If killing, go back to Step 3. If just playing around, proceed to Step 5. Step 5: Do I have the time to jerk around with this Ally. If so, proceed to mess with Ally until he/she runs off, or commits to an action that initiates Step 3 via Step 1. wow powerleveling If not, proceed to Step 6. Step 6: I’ve got better things to do. Mount up, go somewhere else. Hrm. Depends. wow If I am questing and they are questing I’ll leave them alone - or even help them out if they overdraw. Or like in STV last night me and a guildy were grinding those nagahs for that ‘kill 100000000 nagahs for 10 weeds’ quest in BB, and a dwarf warrior was up there. Normally our inclination is to kill first and ask questions later but, frankly, we were at 6/10 of those damn reeds. So we /wave and start to draw another one when three of them spawn around the dwarf. We jump in and save her, and then - bug. lotro gold Nagahs start spawning up there near the water spring every 45 seconds or so. We ended up playing with that dwarf for a good hour or so. Of course an hour later we decided to go ganking and killed every Ally we came across. And for some reason, generally, if I am in STV I’ll kill every Ally I see. Same with Hillsbrad. But not with places like Thousand Needles or Feralas. Edit: Actually I know why I do it in STV. Because on Blackrock at last those whiney little #.*es bring their Mommy or Daddy’s 70 with them as a bodyguard instead of actually learning to PVP on their own.

Love to hate

“i remember one time out in crossroads when i was grinding when something not too out of the ordinary happened. On the wisperwind realm there is a famous ganker and griefer known as Rikku, him and about 3 of of lvl 70 guildmates constantly attack anyone, and i mean ANYONE, flagged or not, you are not safe even if u are a level 1 person, and what i mean about flagged or not is that he will snake trap you if hes sees that u don’t want to take part in pvp, if u are horde, you will get killed. runescape money Back to the story, i was getting repaired when the local defense message “”Rikku at wailing caverns”" came across, pretty soon everyone was putting pvp off, but i knew it would do no good, this was my 5th Rikku encounter, the first of which was at silvermoon trying to get past level 3 but kept dying at his hands for an hour. The group came down at us while i was leaving, killing everything, there were bodies and skeletons everywhere till help arrived. About 3 lvl 70s got psts from us and flew in to help, the battles went on forever, being level 14 i just hid and eagle eyed the whole fight, from time to time they would leave and hide, but i would scout and eagle eye for them and cry out once in view. ever quest platinum After another fifteen minutes we had 2 raid groups going to drive them out. I can’t imagine being on a realm without Rikku, whenever hes there its like another great event will unfold, although he ganks and griefes way too often (like 24/7 just in different areas everytime), its neat how everyone works together to beat him, so this is a message to Rikku if you are reading this, keep doing what your doing, and when i’m level 70 i’ll be keeping you off the newbies you ganking bastard i just do not understand the point in level 70 ally noobs attacking all the low level horde areas .

i have had ally characters all levels up to 70 for a long time now and it is rare to see horde killing low level quest givers , if as ally i am high enough i will kill them of course or at least try to , but ally against horde it seems no matter what race i play or what area the ally kill the quest givers first . wow powerleveling My question is what do they get from killing low levels . as far as i can tell no benefit from it at all apart from annoying other players trying to level , as i have rolled 5 horde characters recently i can see i will be killing far more ally when i get to 70 than ever i did as an ally , and the snake-trap is a nasty trick to use on low levels , i was very surprised when i got it and found the snakes attacked horde characters, and i try not to use it if any are close , now i try to use it only when i get some horde annoying me , which is rare these days….” “Got our asses handed to us on a silver platter the other night in AV, but gotta say, it was the most fun I ever had. The Allies were so organized that it had to have been a premade (that or we just totally sucked) - reguardless, horde got driven off of offense (literally cut off and forced back) within minutes - every landmark on the top 75% of the screen was blue. wow We get forced back to the graveyard just north of our keep and its obvious that we’d lost and couple of peeps start demanding in /bg for everyone to just give up and let allies win so we can get our honor and try again.

I was sick of that attitude and started spamming the /bg for them to f-off and for everyone to fight to the finish - make the allies pay in blood for every inche of land, remember the X-roads, etc! LOL - it worked. We went from being routed to the battle of the Alamo - it was fantastic! Offense was non-existant, the entire team was fighting tooth and nail to hold ground - allies took the grave yard, we held until they forced us back to the city walls. lotro gold Just to get through the gate took them a good five minutes, then back to the next choke point and the next and the next - every corner, doorway, bridge, tower, etc was an epic battle with 40 versus 40 fighting over an area the size of your living room. When WoW becomes work The AOE capable toons were racking up damage scores in the six digits with everyone being so tight and close to each other and the horde pretty much graveyard zerging - anyone in that battle that didn’t have high-speed was getting knocked off if they got within 100 yards of the battle. The allies must have been fumin - what should have been a 5-10 minute win for them turned into almost an hour long recreation of the battle of Berlin - they didn’t manage to kill Drek either - they had to reduce our soldiers down to zero just 1 kill at a time. lineage 2 adena Was it a waste of our time - technically, yes. Did it piss of the allies that thier easy win was turned into an hour long nightmare - most likely. Was it fun as all hell - unquestionably!” . RELATED LINKS:http://wowgoldmonster.edublogs.org/

We’ve changed strategies

“I’m not sure if you’ve noticed in the past month, but to counter the Alliance Frostwolf Relief Hut rush; we Horde have taken to using Resto Druids and Rogues to ninja Stormpike Aid Station. The problem with this is: You don’t come to help, ever. You’re either on the road, or fighting over Stormpike Graveyard while we’ve already despawned the Dun Baldar archers and turned the Stormpike Aid Station flag. There’s maybe one Druid there, at most three people, so we need help. Strategies have changed, so please adapt so we can keep winning in AV. If you see people at Stormpike Aid Station, just forget Stormpike Graveyard and reinforce them ASAP Another thing to start doing, is rezzers need to gang up and take IB and TP towers back, I watched 3-4 Ally attempts on Drek wipe when we retook these towers. With their rush on FW Keep it makes taking back the E and W Frostwolf Towers almost impossible unless you can stealth. Rezzers @ SH Get the towers back when the main force rushes to the keep, makes all the difference. Alliance rushes FW relief hut within the first 3 minutes. They don’t care about the choke point anymore, so we’ve started to put defense down there. Also, Alliance tend to wait in front of Drek. My fav strategy is stay inside with Drek and fear the alliance into coming inside - Drek picks them off. For some reason (maybe stupidity), when they attempt to do the same to Van, we pick them off before Van gets aggroed. ” “Hunters are pretty much the fastest class to level. You can solo a lot and you can go through a lot of grinding without stopping. mp3 player Feral druids, when hitting 32 become very fast as well. They are very mana efficient while soloing because their mana pool regenerates while in a different form, which is very nice if you need to pop out and heal.

Warriors, I haven’t leveled one very far so I don’t have a lot of knowledge in that area. If I were you, I would roll a druid. Druids can be effective healers, DPS and tanks if the talent specialization and gear are placed correctly. lecteur mp3 So if you got bored of tanking, you could re-spec to something else and try that out. The cookie cutter feral build for a druid is: http://www.wowhead.com/. talent=0Z…frRezioVbGz Usually I would never suggest getting nurturing instinct, but with the new changes (it doesn’t show it in the wowhead talent tree at the moment) your healing is increased by 50/100% of your agility, and increases healing done to you while in cat form by 10/20%. Which is very nice since it helps off-healing and in pvp it’ll be easier to heal druids in cat form - usually they’re obligated to go bear form to reduce dmg taken, but it also gimps their dps. Staying in cat form with this talent should solve that if you have a willing healer behind you. wow mein gold de Also, it’s the cookie cutter feral build - some people don’t take brutal impact and savage fury, and get other things. You may want to do that, or stay with this build. Anyways, sorry for the long post - good luck in the World… of Warcraft Personally, I have leveled a druid to 24, a warrior to 40, and a hunter to 70. I find that the hunter is the easiest to level and probably the most fun to play with. wow gold I kind of got bored with the druid, but I hear you just need to kinda stick with them til they get to a higher level, where they are very fun. I found the warrior to be much more fun than I expected.

I thought it would just be, whack the target, and move on. And it basically is…but theres a variety of ways in which to do it that make it exciting. If I were making anew character all over again, if you have no higher level alts, I would make a hunter because you don’t need to upgrade gear as often and they are easier to farm and solo with. cheap wow gold But that’s just my two cents Hunters are good if you are new to wow and they are easiest class to solo with being that they have pet at lvl 10. Warriors I can’t tell you much since I never used one myself but I would have to say that they get kinda difficult to use as you get higher because instance/raid groups need a good tank or dps and you need to know your class well. To tank well you need to time it right, make sure everyone has mana up and health as well. Trust me I had met some pretty bad tank warriors and led our group to many wipes. ” .RELATED LINKS:http://www.wowgoldhunter.blogspot.com
